This is Melindra, possibly my most original character, seeing as how the only 'outside' influence I had in her creation was the thought of "what would make a cool magic-using D&D character?"

Melindra Rosewood used to have it all, as she saw it. She was a happy medicine woman in her hometown, she had a wonderful man for a fiancee, and all was well with the world. Then one day, while out gathering herbs, she was attacked by a pair of bandits. While running, she was saved by a mysterious 'genie' named Shemlech. As payment for the rescue, however, he exacted a high toll, and she was forced to become a djinni of his order.

She has spent the last thousand years trapped in the bottle that has been her entire world, and has no idea what became of her hometown after she left.

Now finally found by a group of adventurers, she has been released into the world once again. Bound to do their bidding, however, she has yet to return to her hometown, which is apparently on the other side of the world from where she was found!

I haven't done much more of her story beyond this, and perhaps some day I'll have the rest of it done and maybe written out. For now, here she is for the world of DeviantArt to enjoy.

EDIT: I figured I should note that yes, there are a few places where there are errors in the lines - namely her right ear in the close up, her shoe when kneeling, and on the bottle icon in the lower left. These were left because cleaning them up would mess with the colored pencil coloring.
